Parts of A Ratchet Strap

Tension Device:

More commonly referred to as a Ratchet or Cam Buckle, here at Cargo Equipment we stock a complete line of tie down hardware. Our ratchets range from 1" wide up to 4" wide and come in several different handle configurations and styles. and Our cam buckles come in 1" wide and 2" wide with many different styles and capacities.

Overall Length:

This measurement includes all parts of the strap assembly including the fixed end and adjustable end. The adjustable end length is calculated by taking the overall length and subtracting the fixed end.

Fixed End Hardware:

Your fixed end is the end with the Ratchet and can have one of many different fittings attached to it.

Adjustable End Hardware:

The Adjustable end is the part of the strap that you feed through the ratchet and like the fixed end can any end fitting attached to it.

Strap Color:

Here at Cargo Equipment Corp. we have many different colors to choose from.

Fixed End Length:

This is the distance of the Ratchet or Cam Buckle from the end fitting with 12" being the standard and most common length and 6" being the absolute minimum.
