E-Track in Box Trucks: Versatile Cargo Securement
Box trucks commonly have E-track installed roughly at head or shoulder height along the interior walls. Their purpose is to secure goods, belongings, equipment or other cargo to the walls of the truck so that they do not move throughout the interior during transit. or transit. By having a full wall of track, cargo can be placed almost anywhere inside the truck and there will be access to a tie-down location. E-track accepts specialized end fittings (commonly called E-fittings, E/A fittings, or simply E-track fittings) that slot into the track and stay put until released with a thumb-activated mechanism.
How to Install E-Track
h2>Some box truck track is designed to be oriented in a particular way (such as Mac's E-Track, which has a thicker side designed to take the brunt of the load when installed on a wall), however for the most part it does not matter which direction the E-track is placed on the wall or floor. Most track is pre-drilled and accommodates standard hardware, or can be drilled if a different mounting hole is required.
What's the Difference Between E-Track and A-Track?
h2>At first glance, nothing. They're both horizontal or vertical slots designed to accommodate specific hardware. The real difference lies in the edges of the slots, as well as in the function and rating of the tracks.
E-Track has edges that curve back in on themselves, providing extra structural support to the shape of the track for improved performance.
A-Track has cut edges, which is a similar track style to produce, however those edges are not structurally reinforced as they are with the E-track. Plus side, you can use E-track fittings interchangeably with both E-track and A-track.

E-Track in Pop Culture:How Stranger Things Season 5 Got E-Track Wrong
While watching the newest season of Stranger Things, we spotted something that definitely did not exist in Hawkins in the late 1980's.... E-track in a box truck. E-track wasn't invented until the early to mid 2000s, with the early patent for a single E-track anchor filed in 2006.
Since we've been in the transportation business since the 1960's (and the moving business before that), we predate the rise of E-Track!
