Plastic Lashing VS Webbing
Historically, lighter cargo and packaging is bundled with plastic lashing, however there's a strong case for upgrading to polyester or nylon webbing even for those smaller transportation jobs:
- Plastic lashing is better for single use or direct-to-consumer products.
- Polyester or nylon webbing has a higher initial cost, however it is reusable for many cycles, making it a great choice for transporting and unloading large goods.
- Webbing is safer for both workers and cargo, as it's soft, flexible and easy to handle without damaging cargo; plastic lashing is vulnerable to cuts, stress and UV degradation at a higher rate than webbing and runs the risk of losing tension over time.
